We are proud to announce that Dr. Venkataram Mysore, Director of Venkat Centre for Skin and Plastic Surgery, has been recognized among the top 2% scientists globally in the field of dermatology, as per the prestigious Stanford University list of 2025.

A Unique Honor for a Clinician-Researcher

What makes this recognition especially remarkable is that Dr. Mysore is among the very few dermatologists in India from private practice to be featured in this elite global list. The majority of scientists recognized in the database are affiliated with academic institutions or research organizations, whereas Dr. Mysore’s inclusion stands as a testament to his exceptional dedication to research and publication while maintaining an active clinical practice.

His achievement highlights that meaningful scientific contributions are possible beyond academia — a rare distinction that blends clinical excellence, research innovation, and ethical medical leadership.

A Distinguished Career in Dermatology

With over 30 years of experience as a dermatologist and 18 years as a teacher, Dr. Venkataram Mysore is widely regarded as one of India’s foremost experts in dermatology. A rare combination of dermatologist, dermatopathologist, and hair transplant surgeon, he currently leads Venkat Centre in Bangalore — a premier institute known for its excellence in skin, hair, and aesthetic care.

After an illustrious early career in India, including service in the Indian Air Force, Dr. Mysore gained international experience in Muscat and Bahrain, becoming a Diplomate of the Royal College of Pathologists (London). In 2003, driven by a vision to establish a centre of academic excellence in India, he founded Venkat Charmalaya in Bangalore — one of the few university-recognized institutes offering postdoctoral dermatology fellowships. The centre has since trained numerous dermatologists from India and abroad.
